Information You Submit
Search forms send the name, phone number, or address you enter to the outside provider that supplies results. Columbus People Search does not retain those searches on its own servers. When you contact us, we receive the details you decide to share and use them to answer your message.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our hosting systems create ordinary logs that can include an IP address, browser type, visited pages, and timestamps. We review this information in aggregate to maintain the service and learn which resources visitors use. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic analytics and, when used, advertising measurement.
How We Use Data
The limited data above helps us run the site, diagnose faults, measure visits, and refine content. We neither sell visitor lists nor create individual user profiles.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Columbus and Georgia government portals, records custodians, library collections, and outside search services. Each destination applies its own privacy terms to information submitted there. Our policy does not govern those services, including the company that provides sponsored search results.
When Data Is Shared
Vendors that host or maintain the site may process logs for us. Analytics and advertising services may receive the automatic information already described. We may disclose data in response to valid legal process, but otherwise do not share visitor information.
How We Protect Your Data
An encrypted connection protects data in transit. Server logs are kept only for as long as the stated purposes require. Since Columbus People Search offers no accounts, it holds no visitor password or account profile.
Users Under 18
The service is meant for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly gather personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if a minor has submitted such information so it can be removed.
Your Data Rights
Your place of residence may give you rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data held by a website. Research found no enacted omnibus Georgia deletion or universal-opt-out law, so none is claimed here. Georgia does define information brokers for breach-notification purposes in O.C.G.A. ยง10-1-912 and Rule 80-3-1-.04. We can check our contact mailbox and server logs for a request made through the Contact page. Records held by Columbus, Muscogee County, or Georgia agencies remain under the custodian's control, and requests about those records must go to that office.
Updates to This Policy
Any revised policy will appear here. Your continued use after publication of a revision signifies acceptance of the updated policy.
